Paul I am really sorry. You need to work through this though, because believe me, your wife needs you. I don't really have an answer about getting through the bad stuff except putting one foot in front of the other. This answer probably seems overly simplistic, but it has worked for me and some of the the bad stuff was pretty bad. Do not be afraid to go talk to your doctor, either. Sometimes that can help.
Chances are you need to rant to someone. My only recommendation is that you pick someone other than your wife, who is probably blaming herself.
