Makes sense to me: bottled water is HUGELY more expensive that tap water. A decent filtering water cooler costs about $600 and filters last about 3 years: it doesn't taste any different than bottled and with the use you might expect in an office situation it'll pay for itself very quickly. To me it sounds like a great idea to save some money (perhaps a lot of money) without causing any real change in service. We switched from a home bubbler (5 gallon bottles delivered) to a tap water filter/cooler about four years ago and have never looked back. It's much cheaper in the long run and there's no extra monthly bill, no delivery hassle and no storage of bottles needed. > Mmmmm municipal water... I wonder if they will change the "Earthquake > Preparedness Guides" which are distributed to Cali residents > instructing them to save several days of bottled water in case of > earthquake and rotate them every 6 to 12 months? The rotation is exactly why it's easier to bottle tap water for emergency preparedness - you can buy empty jugs from most home stores. I'm pretty sure the ban is for "prepackaged water" not "water in bottles"... I'd guess you could still put water in bottles. ;^) Jim Davis ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Upgrade to Adobe ColdFusion MX7 The most significant release in over 10 years.
