That is a very sad and unfortunate thing to hear. As I said before, I honestly wish it had not happened to him and I do hope he gets better. It is not something I would wish on anyone, no matter what you may think. > As for his running out of money, I have no idea what his lifestyle is like, > but one of the hazards of being a notable member of society is that it costs > a lot of money. Apparently public service was not compatible with his chosen lifestyle. That's fine and he's chosen his path. > As for your thoughts on what he has done to this nation, you seem rather > eager to shoot the messenger. You seem to have difficulty separating my feelings about people's politics and behavior from my feelings about their worth as human beings. I did not say anyone was evil. You are unlikely to ever hear that from me. To push that on me is disingenuous as well as mistaken. That said, it is more than a simple disagreement on policy issues. Fundamental things like life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness have been severely damaged under this administration. They act in the firm belief that they exist entirely above the rule of law and can change the rules as they see fit at a whim, in secret. Tony Snow's primary job is to do his best to make the American public like that. He may be a good father, excellent husband and a guy I'd love to have a beer with. That does not change my contempt for the role he has played in actions that very many reasonable people consider criminal.
