Hello, This is specifically for those of you who live in the Raleigh/Durham area, or a close proximity. My sister works for the school district there and her manager wants to hire me as one of their network specialists (I did this in a previous life) for $40.00 an hour on contract and then 77K a year perm. I would be a district employee like I am now here in California so I am aware of the benefits (I currently enjoy 125% employer match in my retirement). My question is this. Is this amount of $$ doable in this area of NC? Here in Southern California it is enough to get by on for sure, but you won't get rich making this kind of $$ here. The one thing that totally excites me about this prospect is that I get to be at the heart of NASCAR, and I can visit my driver's garage, and I am less than half a day away from some of the best tracks in NASCAR. Oh, and I know of the humidity. My sister is a native Californian and he tells me about it all the time. And my 5 yo nephew can't figure out why when he removes his shirt, is still sweats a lot. LOL.
