I guess I didn't really see any reasons to refute:

* You speculated that the government can be more efficient than
business. If you believe this I can fill you in, but I find it hard
to believe that anyone would.

* You spoke about visas which is a immigration issue not a union issue.

* You said that if my experience with unions has given me a low
opinion of them then if must be that I just wasn't a good fit. Why?
Because it's not possible that unions suck?

I'll give you just one of a zillion examples of how they suck:

My company, faced with bankruptcy, cut management pay and staff to
save money. They asked the unions for the same cuts and gave the
formula they used to come up with number. The union agreed to both
the formula and the number.

They had the choice to cut pay, cut heads, or both to reach the
number. Their plan kept all of the heads, even though there wasn't
work for them all, and cut pay. This brought pay down so low that
many of their members couldn't afford it. E.g., low seniority pay
dropped from $15/hr to $9/hr.

Many of their senior members, who'd been in the union for 30 years,
had to quit because they couldn't afford their bills any longer. They
were essentially kicked out to the street at 50 or 60 years old and
replaced by $9/hr 18 years olds.

Why would the union do this? One reason: dues. Each member pays the
same amount of dues. Union leader pay (the union president makes
$312,000/yr) would've dropped if they cut heads because they'd have
fewer people to pay dues.

I could write a book with stories like that. So if you think unions
give a shit about workers, well, you don't know what you're talking
about.
