Just as a quick aside, there was a study done a few years back that looked at 
that. What they found was that people make multiple attempts at quitting (for 
smoking) or dieting. If they don't succeed the first time, the second might 
work etc. Over time and multiple attempts one eventually works for you. The 
idea is that you keep trying.
