Yeah. In the rural south, I'm "Benjerman". Where the heck does the R come from? I had one person, when I corrected them, tell me it didn't matter. I started mispronouncing her name. I don't remember offhand what it was, but I do remember that there was a way of pronouncing it that was bordering on rude. She started calling me Ben.
