I started with dish around seven years ago and love it. I'd say it's gone blank less than a minute 10 times so far and for five minutes only once that I can remember. I keep upgrading my DVR but never had hardware problems... I did have to call years ago and reset the system twice. That was years ago and it only takes a minute.
