Never had to do it myself. Apart from the odd rumble in the ground and the occasional threat of fiery death (thanks Dana), we don't have "weather" here.
I was thinking more of the issues my parents have had on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, but their dish is probably still the original from the early 90's.
