Part One: iPod goes bad and I return it to Best Buy to get repaired
and get the rapid return option

Part Two: The rapid return iPod shows up the night before I leave out
of town. Yippee! iPod doesn't boot, doesn't do anything. Ironic
since it has a "Quality Inspected" sticker I have to remove to open
the box.

Part Three: I work in Dallas so I try to take it back to a Best Buy
there. After waiting 30 minutes on "The Geek Squad", I'm told that
the way it was rung up, my original warranty was voided and I'll have
to take it back to the Arlington Store to get them to reverse the
transaction. Bummer! And I go out of town.

Part Three point 5: I take it back to the Arlington store and wait in
line almost 30 minutes again while two other customers are having
computers diagnosed in front of me. I get my turn. The "geek" tells
me that they'll have to send it back again. I ask several times if
there's any other option only to be told no. They start to do the
transaction to order a new one, stop, and say "we can't order you a
new one, because your old one hasn't been received by the warranty
shop yet. We'll call you tomorrow to see when they think they'll get
it. You'll have to come back then, but it most likely won't be
tomorrow"

On the way home listening to the sound of my engine that fills the
void of my "no iPod", I start to get really irritated. This will be
the 4th time I have to go to Best Buy to get a simple warranty repair
done. I'm going to call the manager of the Arlington store tomorrow
and light into him.

Am I overreacting here? I've had 3 experiences with the Best Buy
warranty system. Two, including this one have been a pain. The other
went painlessly.

(The other one was for a big screen TV repair where they had it 8
weeks before they admitted they'd lost it, and a week later when they
found it and delivered it, the screen had been smashed in and chunks
(4"x4") of the casing had been broken off and it no longer turned on)
