Jon-
imagine my *horror* when the good ol' wholesome California fruit and
vegetable company I worked for, Del Monte, was acquired by RJR as in
tobacco.
in 1980 my boss and I had a business trip to their hq in Winston-Salem, got
a tour of the main Winston mfg plant. <shudder>
everybody had "North Carolina has pride in tobacco" bumper stickers, and
people smoked *everywhere*.
It would have been an eye-opener, but they were watering too badly <g>.
