I don't really see the point of coffee that hot, personally, no, though I have read that McD's product research shows that people buy it more often when it is that hot. If you are sitting down and paying Starbucks prices for a coffee or tea then the temperature at which the water hits the beans or tea does affect flavor, yes. If it's grab and growl along with a sausage biscuit meal, taste is not going to be the point. Maybe people think the heat will keep the fat from congealing in their arteries ;)
