Thank you. You said what I was trying to, but did it in a much better way.
Simply put, everyone knows that if you shoot yourself in the head, you are probably going to die. Everyone knows that ovens routinely reach temperatures that can and will cause bodily harm. That's what those devices are designed to do. There are reasonable expectations here. What is not a reasonable expectation, in my mind, and apparently the jury agreed, is that a liquid meant for human consumption will cause 3rd degree burns when it comes in contact with the very skin it is supposed to touch. This is why we have juries and this is why that jury decided on a 80/20 split. 80% McDonald's fault and 20% hers. If you don't agree with the jury, than that is fine, but to call the entire case silly and raise it up on a pedestal as an example of our overly litigious society is, well, silly. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Adam Churvis" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "CF-Community" <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, December 22, 2007 9:37 AM Subject: RE: Someone is trying to sue me > Gruss, > > You're thinking way too simplistically about law.
