Our problem is that we buy our 5 year old stuff all the time =) She's
spoiled, I'm sure.

but this summer, we bought her a bike just because we felt like she
was big enough to have a new 20" bike instead of her 16" bike. Told
her that when she was able to ride to the end of the trail we ride on
(about 5 miles) that we'd get her a new bike... so she did, and we got
her the new bike. No birthday, no christmas, etc...

Of course, she didn't even really ASK for the DS... I talked her into
it because I wanted her to have something to occupy her in the car and
stuff. But she didn't really know what she was asking for, I just
convinced her it was cool.

The rest of her christmas presents were typical 5 year old girl
stuff... involving bratz, ponies, polly pockets, etc.
