No... The Theory of Evolution doesn't give two shits about a deity. The poor ethical foundation for one doesn't have to have any impact on the purpose of the other. Evolution was designed (like all good Theories) to explain observation. ID wasn't designed at all. It's just creation science after search and replace. "cintelligent designism" don'tchaknow? Creation Science was designed specifically to explain how biblical literalism could be explained scientifically - beginning with a premise and fitting all facts that supported it. Intelligent Design is Creation Science rebranded as the major proponents own records testify to. It wasn't designed to explain observation, it designed to defend a preconceived notion.
