Actually a reseller and affiliate are 2 different things. I have had
experience in the past with both...

Reseller usually is offered a Private-label program to be able to go
out and sell a product as if it was their own. I do this for a website
building program. The structure is:

I pay $6 per site to the company and then I charge whatever I want. I
make my own packages so my profit is based on which package you take.
I end up charging $19.95, $29.95 and $39.95 and just pay $6 for each.

They charge me a $60 per month minimum and I bill my clients using
freshbooks.com. They also require that I sell 10 websites every 6
months to keep it going.
