I was on a concert tour in Spain (years ago) with a group that was asked to represent
the USA at the World's Fair there ("Expo".) We were "hosted" by a military base which
had Spanish and American soldiers. For a few
days, we were transported from the military base to Sevilla along with a number of men
from Syria (who behaved like pigs---aggressive with many of the women in the
orchestra!) I asked a few of them why they were on the
base, and they said Syria had just purchased war planes from USA and our soldiers were
training them how to fly them! It blew my mind!
