Not a durned thing, happens all the time as MN has a state sales tax
whereas, say, Texas doesn't, but then that tax isn't supposed to be
the majority source of income to run the country on.

This is a reason FOR the income tax, it's easy to see if you're living
like a king or not.

BTW, this is why I hate the "death tax" debate.  Income is incoming
money whether you get it from working, capital gains, or inheritance.
People call it "taxing twice" which, of course, it isn't.  E.g., if I
get $100 of income, that's taxed.  Call it once.  Then let's say I
spend it on your services and now your income gets taxed.
