The only sugar-free stuff I'm going to try to tolerate is sugar-free
licorice. I ordered some from Licorice International so I could give it a
try and, if it tastes good, send some to Larry Lyons, too. Should be here
in a couple of days.

I'm really not rushing the diet. I hit plateaus here and there, but I
eventually break through and go lower. I just got some old jeans out of
storage and they fit me again! I mainly concentrate on keeping the blood
sugar down. I'm starting a new regimen of exercise because I need to reduce
the fat stores that absorb so much of my insulin.

So the little drizzle of Tupelo honey tonight was a special treat, and not
one I can repeat often.

I don't know... I might try the sugar-free Jello. I always loved the
regular stuff as a kid -- especially raspberry. Okay, I'll try it and let
you know. Thanks for the tip.

Can't do the high fat stuff, though. Funny you should mention ricotta,
though; I'm going to try making some from scratch soon. I'll use the whey I
recover from making goat cheese.

Hey, sounds pretty tasty! How's the diet going anyway?

I do the high fat/high protein/low-carb thing 5 days/week so some of
these ideas you probably won't like (ya know, due to the massive
amounts of chemicals) but for what it's worth, here are some of them.

* sugar-free jello. An old stand by, boring, but surprisingly satisfying.

* calorie free Walden Farms anything: jams, syrups, chocolate sauce, etc.

* High-fat "pudding": take some full strength ricota (4%), add in a
little calorie free chocolate sauce and blend with an immersion
blender til smooth. That's tasty!

* I also do peanut butter with the cal-free choc sauce.

So, yeah, they all sound yucky, but if you're on a fat-adapt diet they
do the trick!
