Actually 80 is blocked.  That's what makes me think that this is a
Verizon thing and not a router issue, especially since I have the box
set up as DMZ.

And regarding SSH tunneling in, I don't know how that would work to
mimic a VPN tunnel.  I don't want to leave the box as the DMZ forever,
rather my thought is that I can VPN in and do whatever I need, even if
I'm on a family member's computer.
