Well yeah... When work is like in the other room... LOL. I'm only ~16 miles from my work so it's not a terrible commute. I used to live just a shade under 5 miles away...
This actually works to my advantage with the Prius as it really does take about 5-10 minutes (depending on outside temperature) to adequately warm up the engine to get the best fuel economy. Those that only take really short trips in it are usually around 43-46 MPG...
