Well the good news is I have a fresh install of an OS. The bad news is that
I have Vista Enterprise on here now.

It seems that the Dell Inspiron has something that does not allow you to
install any other OS than what it shipped with. My Inspron at home did the
same exact thing that my Inspron here at work did today. At home I wanted to
go from XP MCE to XP Pro. When I got to the Windows Setup portion of the
install, I would get the BSOD. Try as I might I could *not* get past the
BSOD. I called Dell and they informed me that I cannot change the OS unless
I buy it from them. I said WTF? I OWN this copy of XP Pro. They sent me the
MCE recovery CD and I ended up going back to that.
Fastforward to today. Same exact thing happend. No matter what I did I could
not get past the BSOD. So I put a Vista Enterprise CD in the machine and lo
and behold, the install went flawlessly.

Oh well, at least I only have to deal with this POS OS for a few more weeks
until I get back into the Army. I swear I am going to buy a new laptop and
install Ubuntu on it and be done with Windows all together.
