I hear you. I met a couple kids (yes, they were kids, no older than about 19 or 20) who were going in 18-X. I knew 18 was the SF CMF but I was not aware that you can go from the street to SF school. I was flabbergasted. No way a kid right off the street is going to make it through, and even if they do I have my doubts that they will be able to perform at the same level as someone who has been in the Army for a couple of years.
My first goal is airborne, then AA, then Ranger school. I figure in about a year or so I will be physically ready for the challenge. I figure if I am going infantry, I should go all the way. Well, Ranger is all the way to me. Not sure if I would want to be SF. 7 days and counting down till I swear in!
