Well, as with all things, only time will tell. We make up much of it as we go, anyways. But besides that "legal" stuff though: it is the Presidents *job* to make decisions based off of information, and NOT what the person holding the office "feels" like, or whatever. The decisions are supposed to be the best for *the country* and NOT what's best for anything less, be it personal, or special interest, or whatever. The dude, and those around him, directly below him, etc., fucked us over, repeatedly. If you are a strict interpreter, he committed treason dozens of times, and congress/etc. with him. (*sniff* and us- we were there too. Fighting it or not. We're a team, you see... *sigh*) I mean, come on. This isn't something complicated, like icing a cake, ya know? Our privacy has been repeatedly violated, our core beliefs tossed out the window, or moved from "man" (not to be un-P.C.) to "citizen of the USA". And don't get me wrong, we've been on this path for a while, but man! This guy sped us to hell, and didn't even use a hand-basket! "Clean air act" that sullies our air. "no child left behind" that left children (and teachers, parents, etc.) behind. "Patriot" acts, that are anything but. That stuff is bad enough, but then you've got the blatant things this most recent guy did. Stuff that a lawyer might even agree "went to far". But if you really need a lawyer to win this one, then we're lost already. Which is what "they" want, of course. For "us" to have to get lawyers and shit just to have things be right. And all for money and power, or plain old ego. Bah. Value your privacy much? How about your safety? Does privacy and safety relate in any way? Where is the transparency in his government? Do you value that? Do you like a big government that does what it wants with our tax money, with no regard to actual information, and instead bases decisions off of politics or "the reality they want to exist, but doesn't"? A government that tells you to STFU when you question it? I would say that Bush (and those who helped him make it so) committed "some of the more serious acts of disloyalty to one's sovereign or nation". Now, as to if he *really* committed treason, I guess that's up to the legal beagles. No lowly citizen could make that call without years and years of "law" research. And even then, I'm pretty sure you'd have to pass a bar. And not just the legal one. =-P -PS I see you, Loathe. Not in the "I got eyes on you" way, but the "this is a fellow patriot" way. I understand about respecting positions and whatnot, and your required loyalty to this citizen who leads our armed forces, but, I think, you know exactly what's been done. Are you baiting me? Can't say it yourself, so you want someone to say it for you? I'll leave that up to Gruss or something, because I'm really too abstract to say what you want to hear. Proof. There's tons of it, right here, front and center. Too much for me to focus on, actually. It's a character flaw. Instead I wave my arms and say "don't you /see/?!?". Rarely do I nail things down for people. Options, I like giving options. Because as Gruss said, the amazing thing, really, is the folks who went along with this stuff. Not the folks, cause they're normal, but the methods. And even they, are old as dirt, now that I think about it. Yup, methods that have been around for/ever/, yet continue to work. I wonder about ulterior motives, and dream that they are awesome conspiracy type deals, but probably it's just the same-old same-old. -- Did Nixon commit treason? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Adobe® ColdFusion® 8 software 8 is the most important and dramatic release to date Get the Free Trial http://ad.doubleclick.net/clk;192386516;25150098;k Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/message.cfm/messageid:261154 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5
