Interesting and looks promising.  From that article it also does look
like a highly experimental and so far unproven technology.  I suspect
if it's proven to work, energy companies would be more open to
implementing them.

It's not really fair to say "companies that are putting these things
up are adverse to the installation of this stuff".  The article even
says "Members of the wind industry are cautiously optimistic about the
instrument", which looks to me like they are embracing the research,
not rejecting it.  They just aren't willing to invest till they know
it works.
