You know, I did a good bit of work with various TANF (welfare to work,
whatever) programs over the years.

There are some people that milk the system, but it sure as hell ain't
the majority, whatever people tell you.

It can be a real bitch-- Sometimes it seems like the cards are stacked
against, and whatnot. Years of hard work, sometimes, just to get out
there...

But anyways, I wanted to say that there have been reform, year after
year, which has done quite a bit to weed out the "milkers"-- or at
least keep the damn fools busy (which is probably good for the
economy, even if they ain't directly contributing).

There are rules on how long you can be on it, and how many jobs you
have to apply for, etc., etc.. It's like battling virii. You'll
never actually /stop/ 'em. It's just cyclic. And natural, even.

Sure, anyone with a lick of sense can figure out ways around the
system-- hell, it's scary, when you realize that no system is proof
against dickery. But it's also an eye-opening moment.

There is no such thing as safety. Security, a similar concept, is
similarly a falsehood. To an extent, or course, but there's no
escaping the truth.

We can control what we can control, but we're not IN control, ya know?
 Any second... BOOM! Yer-out!

Anyways, I gotta start doing something cool, cuz the only way I can
save, is when I'm pulling down the overtime. Damn, I'm so lame!
Can't really blame anyone for holding me down but myself (although
people have tried;]) though. Well, guess I'll just have to do
something about that.

Eventually.
