Well I would definitely see a doc about it.  I'm not a doc.  Having said
that, I would say immobilizing it and not typing would be a good start.  I
have a pretty bad repetitive stress problem with my right arm from video
gaming and mouse movements over the years.  I've switched to my left hand
for mousing, and have put the games away permanently.

When my arm hurt the worst, the best thing for me was to lie down and
totally stop moving it.  Even just walking around requires you to use the
muscles in your arm to stop it from hitting chairs, etc.  Ice usually didn't
help me, nor did heat - but they might help you.  I'd take the best
painkillers you have and just stop moving it - and the rest of you.
