i've experienced this on a milder level before...
what are you taking, if anything, for pain relief? aspirin and ibuprofen 
(the combo) can't hurt.   
obviously don't use your arm, hand etc. if at all possible any 
additional movement is only going to make it worse. no lifting anything 
heavy etc.
Ice and/or heat (not simultaneously lol) can work but you probably want 
to try both and see which provides better relief for you and stick with 
that.
