I took a few moments on the way home when I saw a half-mast flag out the bus window to really think about that day and all the craziness and sadness that was going inside me and all around me at the time. It really brought me down for a while. Such a terrible day of my life that will never leave me.
I finished it up on a happy note though - my little girl Liberty was born that day, and that is something that I can also take with me forever. It's one of the only great things that came out of an otherwise terrible day. I don't care that she's "just a dog". =) So Happy Birthday Libby, and we'll always remember all the victims of the Pentagon and WTC attacks.
