I remember watching it on TV at 5:50am. Breaking news about a plane hitting
the first tower. I thought it was your "typical accident." At 6:03am, when
the second plane hit, that was no longer a thought...

I took a half hour this morning and watched the Fox News tribute that they
do and watched some of the ceremony from ground zero. I rewatched the
newscast and choked on watching people choose to jump from the top of the
tower rather than burn to death. :( I watched the whole thing that day in
real time and it was just as awful today as it was then. I still remember
the smell the of the burning towers blowing into NJ and the smell when I
drove downtown 2 weeks later. I remember calling around trying to get
through and find my friends that worked in that area and I remember seeing
the smoke driving into Bloomfield 2 days later. Very sad. Very awful.
Definitely something I'll never forget.
