As the title suggests..

We have a friend who has declined in his health, and has tried to take his
own life. Since then we have become aware of the problems, but to be honest
it is very hard to digest. We can see what is happening but feel helpless,
because of his state.

His life came to a halt so to speak, a few years ago. When he was abused in
a relationship, since trying to move on and began having a life away from
her. He ended up with death threats, and took an intervention order out
against her. But ended up receiving more a few months later, the police at
the time didn't want to do anything.

He has been summons to appear on charges of stalking, which he knows he is
not guilty. The evidence points to him, which I can't discuss openly. What I
can say is that here in Australia I am under the impression that the act
states, there has to be proof or intent to cause fear. So far all legal
people we have spoken too, haven't wanted to look at the fact that as he was
abused and threatened. They seem to only focus on the evidence, which I
admits does make it look like he did it. There is witnesses that will say
otherwise, but legal don't seem to be hearing, sometimes we feel that we
aren't asking the right questions

He currently feels that it is hopeless, hence why he did what he did. The
problem we have, is we are getting to a point that we don't know what to do.
