You see, when you say a Surge, with reference to the Iraq Surge, then
it is unreasonable
to expect that you mean something different to what happened in Iraq.

And, if you say this repeatedly, and never once infer that it is
something different to what occurred in Iraq
until AFTER your opponents point out that it won't work, then its
difficult for you to maintain credibility.

Glad you finally realised that on behalf of your candidate.

Now you can argue that no one understood what was being said, but
again that would be your fault
for not explaining yourself until after your original position was
shown to be unworkable.
