The right for a woman to get an abortion won't go away, though it might
encounter some additional "regulation" with a more conservative court.
There are still a great number of grey areas that need to be hashed out and
they are not in the realm of the legistlative branch and will only be solved
by the supreme court. When does a fetus gain it's own inalienable rights?
Should it be legal to hack apart a second trimester baby when the health of
the mother is not in jeapordy and the baby would be completely viable
outside the womb? Children (under 18) should need to have parental consent.
As a parent I would have some real issues with my daughter getting an
abortion (or having any major medical procedure for that matter) without my
knowledge and/or consent. Especially if I'm the one providing the insurance
coverage for that procedure. These are areas that I think will need to be
decided and I would hope that the court is populated with justices that will
take the most conservative stance possible.

As for firearm regulation the 5-4 ratio seemed just about right for the
latest gun ban ruling for D.C. I shudder to think what would have happened
had a second Ruth Bader Ginsberg been on the court instead of a Scalia or
Roberts. I only wish they would have been more conservative in the death
penalty for child rape decision... There should be provisions for capital
punishment based on the age of the victem and other circumstances...
