I'm actually suspicious of Obama (as I am of politicians in general)
but moderately optimistic.

As for the rest of it, my point was that I don't think you have a
solitary clue about what the "middle" of this country really wants and
thinks. And I believe that the best way to find out is to put out
solid ideas and principles and let them choose.

I'm just glad that this is an election where something to the left of
"pissing out pants in fear of offending the Republicans" is being
represented and voters actually have choices.

My guess is that Obama and his policies will appeal to a large
proportion of the populace and what you think of as the 10% way left
crowd will actually turn out to be more of the 60% of the country that
can see that they've been fed a raft of shit by the Right for the last
14 years.
