That's as good of way as any, but since nothing a candidate EVER EVER
says becomes reality I always find it a lacking methodology.

For President (or Gov) I always for the least ideological, most fact-driven guy.

For President in 2000 and 2004 that wasn't Bush.

For MN State Gov in the last 2 elections, that's been the Republican
Gov Pawlenty (the almost VP candidate for McCain).

In this case there's a special need: economic talent both by the
President and on the President's bench.

Obama has Buffett, Volcker amongst others.

McCain has Phil Gramm, the guy who architected the mess we're
currently in, and McCain by his own words said he was weak on the
economy and would have to lean on his VP; which turned out to be
Palin.

So if I'm only voting pocketbook (of which taxes are only a small
small part) then Obama gets an 8/10 and McCain gets a 2/10.
