I realize that actually needs clarifications.

I can't have an opinion on national service without "generalizing" how I
feel it should be.
I can't have an opinion on politics, without generalizing what I am speaking
about.
I can't have an opinion on how cold it is in the mountains without
generalizing a certain region.

MOST opinions are formed from generalizations.

You want scientific data down to a number, and perhaps it's fractions? Go
join a scientific mailing list made up of people that do that.
