The trouble here, feelings are a very poor foundation for *law*. The main foundation for law is to remove feelings and emotion so that people are treated fairly and consistently. It is very hard to treat somebody fairly and equatable when strong emotions are involved in decisions. You say that a marriage is defined as 'a man and a woman' in the oxford dictionary. But what about the Christian Bible, the first book you cited as a source. I'm not export enough to point to all the relevant chapters and versus but I'm confidant it is chocked full of polygamous marriages. It just is a really poor argument to say "I don't agree with this because it was how *I* and my father and grandfather was raised." But what about your father's great^20th-something grandfather who may have very well been polygamous. How about your even farther back, before the modern Christian age, fore fathers you probably where quite comfortable with homosexuality as far has history tells us. Just which age old standard should we be applying here? Or can we just forgo all this emotional hooey feeling hullabaloo and just look at this logically. In that case your are going to have to show some reasonable and logical argument on how gay marriage would bring *harm* to modern society. And, if you care to bring polygamy and group marriage into this, show how they would also bring harm. Other then 'I just don't *like* it.' ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Adobe® ColdFusion® 8 software 8 is the most important and dramatic release to date Get the Free Trial http://ad.doubleclick.net/clk;207172674;29440083;f Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/message.cfm/messageid:280930 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5
