Me, I wouldn't ever say that. Because for me actions != race. And (again, for me) white is a race and not a culture. So nobody can "act white". But many members of his race would say "he's acting white" if he spoke grammatically correct English, owned a Volkswagon, or participated in any item blogged on the site "Stuff White People Like". They, of course, are talking white culture, not race, and specifically like you mentioned a fictional US white culture as perceived by TV representations. Cultures are not only defined internally (by members of the culture), they are usually defined from the outside by parties not in the culture. Because people in the culture dont notice much of the boiling water around them.
