If you don't count defense/security related spending as discretional
then the bulk of federal spending isn't something we can just cut. I'm
not a big fan of bureaucracy but I think you dramatically
mischaracterize the bulk of the people that work for the federal
government. You may see government as the enemy, but I don't. Its a
tool. A tool, like a gun, that can be wielded for good or for evil.
Though it is complex enough that often it isn't entirely clear whether
it is good or evil at the time.

If you don't care to try and reform it, please shut up and step aside
for those that would like to try and turn it into something more
useful.
