HA! No kidding ...

Well I NEVER do "fasted cardio" or workouts, but I do try to do them
hours after a meal. I have a triathlete friend who gets up every day
at 5am and does an hour of fasted cardio and lifting. Of course he's
in great shape, but he's not that muscular so I dunno, but it doesn't
work for me.

For workouts I used to be just water (green tea actually) and then I
switched ICE & tea:

Which is a great product for BCAAs in terms of drinkability, but it's
got artificial sweeteners.

I noticed a difference both in terms of post work out soreness and in
results. Then I added in coffee pre and sometimes during. That's
been awesome.

Then I added in a scoop of whey. So now my w/o drink is BCAAs, whey,
and greens plus. Tastes great!

For post workout I drink Pom juice right away and then usually 60g of
fast whey along with more BCAAs. To break fast in the morning (and
that's exactly what you're doing) I do a small version of this and
then usually have a casein shake.

And I suppose I should mention that I also take creatine pre and post
too. Not only does it boost your IQ (proven!) but it'll give you
results, at least it does me.

Overall this is why low carb (but I don't think that's the only way)
is good for me to lose fat because high protein consumption just feels
right for me. I don't get the cravings for carbs, but mornings &
weekends are fine for that.

It's kinda funny because I took 3 weeks off (although I did lift some)
over Christmas and I decided I'd eat anything I wanted whenever
knowing I was going CKD in Jan. I found myself by week 2 wanting a
good ole calorie restricted & carb restricted day so I did a few not
for any other reason than I actually wanted too.

People say that if you restrict carbs your taste changes and I guess
that's true. But for me it's not that I lose cravings for, say, cake
it's more that it doesn't do as much for me when I have it. Also
there's a "clean" feeling that I get when I'm rolling on pure protein
and clean fats (walnut oil, coconut oil, flax, and maybe evoo).

I would never have guessed I'd miss restricted low carb days, but I did!
