Ubuntu is the bomb. If you are using KVM, install virsh and use it to manage your VMs on the command line. There is a GUI VM manager, but it has issues. Virsh is very nice. There are new Ubuntu docs on KVM here:

The new sound system, Pulse Audio Server, is designed to unify sound management throughout Ubuntu, but it isn't quite fully baked yet. I have a Bose Companion 3 sound system (USB audio), and the OS sometimes loses track or gets locked out of Pulse until I reboot. Video has a similar issue where Flash videos (not sure about general Flash movies) play for a second then stop playing in Firefox. Sometimes there is a firefox process hung and I can kill the process and restore sound and video, so the underlying issue might be Firefox, but it still needs to be addressed. There are a few other things, mostly around multimedia. The only killer right now is the lack of software tools for Ubuntu. Adobe's support for Linux is find on the server, not so good from a tools perspective. The market is small right now, so I understand their issue with spending money on it. If you want to see more tools for Ubuntu, tell Adobe, they need to hear it.
