Would I do it, probably not. (Nor order it done) Would I do it if the people in the hospital in question were not the same population and electors of the government-sponsored fighters (if, for example, germans were holed up in a french hospital), no almost definitely not.
But it is war. The population made a choice to put these people in charge. It might have been the lesser of 2 evils (the PA is no picnic), but they did it. And their army put them at risk by using the people for shelter, purposefully. These are not unknown tactics by them (they have been doing it for decades). So, do I fault the Israelis for targeting soldiers hiding amongst their own population? No, I don't. I wish that they could have found a better way. Or targeted the fighters only. But do I think they should just let them fire away because they were hiding in a hospital? no. What I really wish is that Hamas did not hide amongst civilians to force just these kinds of moral dilemmas. What I really wish is that Hamas would buy cameras and microphones with their arms money, and _show_ the world the treatment they are getting at the hands of Israel. Highlight the injustice. They would be on TV every night on every news station around the world. And, if their arguments were just, they would feel the weight of the world, and of Israel's population even, to create change. I think Hamas as it exists is a cancer on the world.
