Just because you understand something and want to make it better does not mean that you have to excuse it. I was sexually abused as a child. That is a horrible thing and I appreciate it when other people understand how that colors my reactions to certain things. If I were ever to sexually abuse my daughter I would hope that my wife was the one throwing me in jail. In fact, we've had that discussion and she's agreed to do it.
