I think it could have been handled differently. At the very least I think they should have A) not destroyed the lumber the guy was taking and b) not destroyed the vehicle, buy maybe impounded it or given it to someone else (as was pointed out by someone else). But without knowing the full contect of that clip, I reserved comment.
