Actually - not to continue this argument with you - but just so you got it right to which point *I* was replying to...
I had nothing to say about Justin's initial problem because you all seem to be handling that just fine. I took exception to YOUR statement and reply to Scott, that we have no right to shut down a client's site for unpaid bills. This in particular: "Where I'm from you can't just shut someone's site down for lack of payment or you open yourself up to a lawsuit." My <snip> and comment about unpaid bills was directly to that particular subject - not his initial handling problem. A thread within a thread, as usual here on community. A client is entitled to a portion of work they have paid for. If they havent paid 100% of it, then they dont get 100%. Hosting fees have LONG been paid up front, because of dead beat customers. Many developers now ask that any funds for a project be put into escrow, so they are guaranteed payment when finished. WAY too many deadbeat customers out there these days. Way too many. In every segment of business. On Wed, Feb 11, 2009 at 12:46 PM, Michael Grant <[email protected]> wrote: > > > The issue is UNPAID bills.
