Because beheadings are a negative action performed almost exclusively by Muslims who use Islam as the reason for doing it. The silence in regard to it from within the Muslim community is a little scary to me, especially the silence from clergy. I expect someone to step up and say that its wrong. Flat out that its wrong, not playing word games and dance around the subject.
Your example of drugs do not come close, but lets say that it did. Lets say that there is a problem with drug use in the African American community. Do you see any protests against drugs? Sermons against drugs? Speeches, seminars, newspaper articles, etc. all about drugs? Hey, there are! Drugs, which is neither unique to the African American community nor condoned by any holy book they follow is rejected by the community vocally. We have people from the community standing up and saying "we reject this" and it is bad. Have we seen CAIR doing this? (and Rastifarians are a whole other story) On Mon, Feb 16, 2009 at 3:01 PM, Scott Stroz <[email protected]> wrote: > > Why do there need to be protests against it to show that a majority of > Muslims are against it? > > This is basically like asking, can African-Americans live without drugs, > because Gruss saw a few black guys doing drugs once.
