No, I'm stuck on the general and accepted abuse of wives and relatives that
is not protested because it is ingrained within the religious tradition of
Islam. I'm against beheading, honor killings, beatings, mutilation, and all
of the other sundry abuses that happen every day but only come up on the
mainstream radar when it is sensational. I want to see this abuse recognized
and protested against not by non-Muslims but by Muslims. I'm not talking
about any abuse here but abuse which is rooted in a religious tradition. If
a religious tradition says its OK to hurt or kill someone and this is acted
on, then there is a problem. ANY religious tradition.
I wonder if we would be having this conversation if the killer was a
Christian and he stoned his wife to death for adultery. I expect not as we
would have heard an outcry against it by now.

And the thing that really has to be watched is that the husband is in court
today to get custody of the kids.
