Islam is evolving. Perhaps not as fast as Judaism or Christianity has, but it's evolving. Michael, as a Jew I'd expect you to be less quick to paint a whole religion with a single brush stroke. Perhaps that makes you less tolerant given the history? I can't say.
No one is disputing that there's violence that can be tied to the religious history of Islam. However this post is really about whether Islam is capable of progressing past it. I have yet to see an argument that logically supports that it cannot.
