This is true.

There's a theory about women that says they are more likely to
remember emotional impact rather than specific people or emotions.

Thus (sayith the theory) if you fancy a babe that doesn't fancy you
the first time around, you should REALLY piss her off because later on
she won't remember whether she loved you or hated you, only that she
felt strongly about you.

I do know when I met my wife it kinda worked:

I was a consultant at a company and asked my boss who should type up
my engagement notes; he gave me directions to the new chicks desk.

I walked over, introduced myself, gave my best smile, and asked if she
could please type up my notes and get them back to me by days end.

She stared at me for a second or 2 and then said, "I wasn't hired to
do that", then kept staring.

I was in love.
