Why do I hear the specter of "going in alone" in what your saying. There is little to no chance that we will retaliate against Iran without UN and/or world backing. I just don't see it happening. As for Israel, well, they'll allegedly remove Iran from the face of the earth, including a huge supply of oil. I'd say that's both our business and the worlds.
Israeli mentality 101: We were almost destroyed as a people. We will not be destroyed as a people. We'll strive for peace but if the threat of our destruction as a people becomes real, we will fight to the end and then some. A nuke hit on Israel will spark off that "destroy those who would destroy us" mentality and will allegedly result in something that no one wants...other than Iran.
